Cultivation & harvest

Savoy cabbage is a type of cabbage that is highly nutritious. Accordingly, a humus-rich, nutrient-rich and loamy soil is selected for cultivation. Uniform soil moisture completes the optimal growing conditions.

Use

Savoy cabbage can be used very finely sliced in salads. The vegetable is also ideally suited for steaming and braising and then served as a simple vegetable side. As with other types of cabbage, the large outer leaves can also be stuffed and made into cabbage rolls.

Storage

The loose heads of savoy cabbage do not keep for as long as the firm white or red cabbage. It keeps in the crisper drawer of the fridge for about a week.
