At Pfalzmarkt, we attach great importance to ensuring that our fruit and vegetables are not only fresh and safe, but also packaged in an environmentally friendly way. Packaging plays a key role in reducing food waste and ensuring the freshness of our products. At the same time, we are aware of the environmental impact that packaging can have. For this reason we pursue a balanced strategy: we rely on disposable and reusable systems, use recyclable materials and design packaging as efficiently as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disposable packaging: Functional and sustainable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our disposable packaging includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Wooden crates<\/strong> and cardboard boxes<\/strong>, which are ideal for one-time use and are recyclable after use.
\u2022 Recyclable plastic trays, cardboard trays<\/strong> and paper fibre trays<\/strong>, which have been specially developed for sensitive fruit and vegetables to preserve their quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This packaging not only provides excellent protection, but also fulfils our environmental sustainability requirements by using materials that are easily recyclable or biodegradable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individual sales packaging: Efficient protection for freshness and quality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In order to protect our products optimally and at the same time protect the environment, we use various protective packaging. Each packaging is specially selected for the respective requirements of our products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Plastic film<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plastic films are used for products such as beans and herbs, to protect them from drying out and from external influences. The films are made from recyclable materials and help extending the shelf life of products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Plastic bag<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our plastic bags are ideal for salads, cabbage and other leaf vegetables. They protect the products from damage and drying out. We also use bags made from recyclable plastic bags that can be easily integrated into the recycling process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Plastic trays<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sturdy and recyclable plastic trays offer optimum protection for sensitive produce such as lamb\u2018s lettuce, tomatoes or berries. They prevent mechanical damage and ensure that less produce is damaged or disposed of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Paper trays<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paper trays are made from renewable resources such as cellulose and are bio degradable. Perfect for stone fruit such as cherries, mirabelles and plums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Alternatives made from other materials<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, we offer alternatives made from grass paper and are always up-to-date with the latest trends and developments on the packaging market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reusable packaging: Durable and resource-saving<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For reusable systems, we rely on proven solutions such as the Euro Pool System and IFCO boxes. These packaging options are robust, reusable and help reduce waste. They are an environmentally friendly alternative and help us to minimize our carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
